Rumor Central: Shannon Brown To Knicks?

The New York Knicks have reportedly made a formal offer to free agent guard Shannon Brown. Brown however, will not even consider the offer until the Lakers have decided whether or not to trade Sasha Vujacic.

If the Lakers do indeed trade Vujacic, Brown is hoping a spot will open up him on the Lakers roster. But, the Knicks look to be a better fit for Brown, who would team up with Raymond Felton to form the core of New York's backcourt.

However, Shannon Brown is showing intense loyalty to Lakers, with whom he has won two championships with. For that, and that alone, Brown should be re-signed by the Lakers. He is more athletic than Vujacic, but losing Vujacic would cut an above average 3-point shooter from the Lakers roster (not that he contributed much during the season).

Brown, 24, averaged 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the Lakers last season.
